No note, no conflict. The sources leave open how Nevada's rules for schools based elsewhere treat a graduate placement, which the next section takes up.
NAC 632.703 and schools from other states
Nevada regulates outside programs through NAC 632.703. A school conducting any part of its program in Nevada submits a report on the Board's form, with its accreditation or approval documented, a showing that it meets chapter 632 of Nevada's statutes and administrative code, and a school report every year. Clinical teaching in Nevada by a program delivered online, or in any other nontraditional way, needs the Board's approval first, and the faculty doing that teaching need Nevada licenses.
Nothing in the regulation carves graduate education out. The Board's September 1, 2026 program list, the roster of out-of-state schools allowed to offer only clinicals in Nevada, is made up entirely of prelicensure ADN and BSN programs. Ask the Clinical Practicum Coordinator how Loyola approaches NAC 632.703 for your program, and have that answer before you lock in a preceptor.

A Nevada license for any patient contact
No compact bill is pending in Carson City, and Nevada is not a member, so a multistate license from Louisiana, Texas or elsewhere stops at the Nevada line. The Board also has a practice decision on the point, and it names hands-on nursing education among the activities it covers: anyone practicing nursing on, or caring for, a patient physically in Nevada must be licensed by Nevada. Loyola's practicum license rule reaches the same result.
Because Nevada licenses are single-state, Loyola's other requirement, a Louisiana or multistate license throughout enrollment, calls for a Louisiana license alongside. The APRN Compact is not in force. More on the license page.
How Nevada expects precepting to work
Nevada's Board issued a practice decision on precepted clinicals in 2005. Clinical experiences stay under faculty direction. Preceptors are physically present, with a two-student ceiling at any one time. Faculty must be reachable by telephone, and preceptors receive an orientation and written objectives from the school. Loyola's own rule, a preceptor on site for every hour you log, fits that picture, and the Preceptor Agreement spells out what the preceptor takes on.
In AANP's classification Nevada is full practice. The exception concerns Schedule II drugs: an NP with under 2,000 hours, or under two years, of clinical experience needs a physician-approved protocol to prescribe them. Las Vegas, Reno and Carson City
By 2025 Census estimates, the Las Vegas-Henderson-North Las Vegas metro is home to about 2.41 million; next, at a distance, come Reno (roughly 579,000) and Carson City (about 59,000). Dignity Health's Nevada hospitals are in Las Vegas and Henderson; other large names include University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (an academic medical center), Renown Health, Sunrise Health System from HCA Healthcare, and The Valley Health System, operated by a Universal Health Services subsidiary. Are Las Vegas and Reno sites possible for a Loyola New Orleans student?
Yes, on Loyola's side: the July 15, 2026 map approves Nevada for all programs, and the June 2026 tables list it as meeting requirements. Nevada then adds conditions of its own, namely a Nevada nursing license for anyone treating patients there and a regulation on online programs teaching clinicals in the state. Confirm both with the Clinical Practicum Coordinator before you pick a site.
Will a multistate RN license work at a Nevada clinic?
It will not. Nevada has stayed out of the compact, and the Board's patient-care practice decision says a person treating Nevada patients, including a student in direct contact, holds a Nevada license. Start the Nevada application early, because the site cannot begin your hours without it.
What student cap does Nevada put on a preceptor?
Two students at once is the cap in the Board's 2005 decision on precepted clinicals, with the preceptor physically on site. That decision also keeps faculty in charge and asks the school for a preceptor orientation and written objectives. Loyola's guides publish no NP preceptor ratio, so Nevada's cap is the number to remember.
Does Nevada have to approve an online program before its students train there?
Under NAC 632.703, clinical teaching in Nevada by an online or otherwise nontraditional program waits on Board approval, and the regulation treats graduate and prelicensure programs alike. Ask Loyola's Clinical Practicum Coordinator how that affects an NP or DNP placement, ideally before you contact practices.
