In which Loyola nursing programs do I find my own preceptor?
The FNP, AGACNP and PMHNP tracks and certificates and the DNP scholarly project practicums: students select the preceptor and site and the placement office handles the agreement. Nurse-Midwifery, Nurse Anesthesia, the BSN and the ABSN assign sites.
Are Nurse Anesthesia and Nurse-Midwifery sites assigned by Loyola?
Yes. The Nurse Anesthesia handbook assigns students to program-affiliated clinical sites, and the Nurse-Midwifery handbook says clinical site placements are provided by the program, with the Program Director assigning sites each semester. The bulletin's Nurse-Midwifery certificate entry describes home-area preceptors instead, so ask the program which applies to you.
How many hours does a Loyola DNP need?
1,000 supervised graduate practicum hours in total. BSN-DNP students reach it through their specialty practicums plus 540 project hours; MSN-DNP Executive Leader students count verified MSN hours and add NURS G965 if they fall short.
