These terms apply when you use this site or ask Loyola Preceptor to help with a clinical placement. By using the site or our service, you agree to them. Please read them alongside your Loyola program's own requirements.

The service
Loyola Preceptor is an independent placement service for Loyola University New Orleans nursing students. We search for preceptors and practicum sites that fit a student's Loyola course, prepare the preceptor and site information the student submits to Loyola (including what the Exxat Wishlist and the affiliation agreement need), and help find a replacement if a preceptor steps away.
Loyola University New Orleans does not run this service, and the information on this site is not an official Loyola statement. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Loyola Preceptor, and "you" means the person using the site or the service.
Loyola's role and final approval
Loyola's placement office and faculty approve every placement, hold the affiliation agreements with sites, and decide when a placement is approved. Loyola's bulletin, handbook, practicum guides, plans of study, syllabi and faculty set the rules for your program.
Where anything on this site or in our communications differs from Loyola's current requirements, Loyola's requirements apply.
No promise of placement, approval or dates
We work hard to find a suitable preceptor and site for you. We do not promise that one will be found, that one will be found by a particular date, that Loyola will approve a site or preceptor we identify, that an affiliation agreement will be signed by a particular date, or that you will start or finish any course or program on a particular timetable.
Preceptors and sites make their own decisions and may change or withdraw their availability at any time, including after Loyola's approval.
Your responsibilities
You remain responsible for meeting Loyola's requirements and deadlines, whether or not we are helping you. In particular, you are responsible for:
- meeting Loyola's compliance requirements in Exxat and keeping every item current;
- holding an active, unencumbered RN license for every state where you do practicum, and the license Loyola requires while enrolled;
- completing background checks, drug screens, health clearance, immunizations and any site requirements before patient contact;
- starting practicum hours only after your placement is approved and the affiliation agreement is signed, and logging hours accurately;
- staying in contact with your faculty, your program director and the Clinical Practicum Coordinator;
- giving us accurate information and telling us promptly about any change.
Fees
Our fees are quoted individually, based on your program, course, location and timing, and your quote sets out what it covers. Charges made by a clinical site or other third party, and Loyola's own tuition and fees, are separate from our fee. Loyola places the cost of its Exxat subscriptions, background checks, drug screens and site fees on the student.

They are general information, not academic, legal or professional advice, and Loyola's rules can change. Check your plan of study, your practicum guide, your faculty and the Clinical Practicum Coordinator before relying on any detail.

Sending us your details means you consent to our contacting you about your inquiry and placement by email, phone call or text message, as our privacy policy describes. Reply STOP to any text to opt out of text messages.
Acceptable use
Please use this site for its intended purpose. Do not submit false information, misuse the forms or chat, or copy the site's content for commercial use without permission.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Loyola Preceptor is not liable for losses that arise from the decisions of Loyola, a preceptor or a clinical site, from delays in approval or course progression, or from reliance on the general information on this site. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time. Each revision carries a new date at the top of the page. Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact page or the chat.
